“Feel good, look good, do good.”

Growing up in Springfield, IL, you could find Dr. Maddie outside skating & biking the city, immersed in nature, or catching fireflies in her tree house surrounded by the best of friends.

Dr. Maddie went on to graduate from Southern Illinois University Carbondale with a Bachelor’s in Criminology/Criminal Justice & a minor in Psychology on a path geared toward becoming an attorney. After the loss of her closest uncle & surviving a series of violent events, she was awakened to knowing pain was something inevitable but how she dealt with it was her choice.

In pursuit of how to relax, release, grieve, achieve stability, & find peace she found Traditional Chinese Medicine & its profound, natural techniques to combat mental-emotional dis-ease & rediscover her power.

She also started to realize how pharmaceuticals were readily given out & caused side effects calling for more medications to try to rid those side effects. This is a never ending cycle seen with many, including her mother- a multiple sclerosis warrior.

As a mother of two & trained as a doula by the Midwest Maternal Child Institute, Dr. Maddie has a special interest in supporting women transitioning into motherhood. She is committed to improving the birth outcomes & experiences of all families. Dr. Maddie does this by building relationships of trust & restoring birthing knowledge in a healthcare crisis fueled by structural racism that drives significant racial disparities in maternal & infant morbidity & mortality. Particularly affecting BIPOC and their experience with birth.

Dr. Maddie is also passionate about holding space for those feeling “stuck” or disconnected from their bodies due to life’s daily stressors: parenting, career change, heartbreak, loss, & navigating new beginnings.

With over 3,000 hours of acupuncture clinical training & higher education from accredited acupuncture schools, & having to pass multiple national exams in order to be licensed to needle, Dr. Maddie is fueled by her vision of helping as many people as she can tap into their unlimited potential to heal, create, & thrive!

Dr. Maddie is a proud graduate of one of the first established schools of Asian Medicine in the United States, Midwest College of Oriental Medicine. She is licensed by the State of Illinois & is certified by the National Certification of Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine. Dr. Maddie received her Doctorate from Pacific College of Health & Science, San Diego. She is also certified in cosmetic acupuncture. Dr. Maddie holds a Master’s of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine, a Bachelor’s degree in Eastern Nutrition, & a Bachelor’s in Criminology & Criminal Justice. Dr. Maddie is a member of the Illinois Society of Acupuncturists. As an advocate of mindful movement, she is a certified, multi-faceted yoga teacher with a specialty in Hot Yoga.

When Dr. Maddie is not caring for patients, she is enjoying quality time spent with her family & friends, hiking in nature, traveling, chasing new passions like learning to play the guitar, & making delicious plant based foods & herbal remedies.
